ORGANISATION DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE:
· Facilitated a major change in the work culture of Strathcona Refinery (Esso Canada), enabling it to advance from twelfth to top ranked of forty-two Exxon refineries world wide (1982-1986).
· Created the original Organisation Development and Training Department for The Laurentian Group - one of the largest financial conglomerates in Canada - personally selected candidates from line functions and
mentored them to become
competent consultants and trainers (1986-1989).
· Facilitated a creative process with the executive committee of Levi
Strauss, resulting in an innovative marketing strategy for their Canadian operations (1992-1993).
· Facilitated a major change in the work culture of the 5,000-person mechanical department of Canadian Pacific Railway - including re-selection of the entire 300-person management and supervisory staff, resulting in significant improvement in overall performance effectiveness and job satisfaction (1993-1997).
MANAGEMENT AND EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE:
· Effectively managed the Human Resources Department of the Comptrollers function of
Esso
Canada (1977-1978).
· Created and effectively managed the original Corporate Manpower Planning Department of
Esso
Canada - created
the organisation's first equal opportunity policy, and its first performance appraisal system for administrative employees (1978-1982).
· Established a legal auxiliary for Adidam, an international not-for-profit organisation. As CEO of this "cooperative community organisation", established cooperative decision-making, cooperative living, cooperative food and health programs, cooperative finances and businesses, and so on (1989-1991, 1998-2008).
